Seven bedrooms over three levels that step down toward the water, and the largest house on the headland. Modern European design against island views: brushed concrete and stone that sit naturally with the coastline, stone Buddhas, oriental rugs. The main room is open plan and sun filled, with high vaulted ceilings and glass walls that give the whole Andaman at once. Beside it a kitchen and dining area big enough for everyone to eat together, with a live-in chef who cooks Thai, Indian and Western to order. Outside, terraces wide enough for a party, a wedding or a company dinner, edged in frameless glass so nothing interrupts the view, around an infinity pool and a whirlpool. Downstairs there is a foosball table, a ping pong table and a family room that seats twelve. A king bedroom sits on the pool level; the master and the children’s room open straight onto the garden.
What this villa asks of us
A villa this size is won or lost on logistics. Seven suites means seven sets of linen, air conditioning, plumbing and guest expectations running at once, plus terraces built for events that have to be event ready on demand. Shibumi carries the staffing, provisioning and upkeep for all of it.
